Salvaged US Walnut

Inspired by the lotus flower, the Lotus Table's form language is guided by themes of concentricity, focus and repetition. The table was designed with the intent of being a conversation starter on the topic of mindfulness, the flowing octagonal structures can be viewed both as a lotus flower, but also as the breath cycle, flowing up and down the form cyclically.

Similar to the form, the making of the Lotus Table was a repetitive process allowing me to practice mindfulness while working on the repeated components.
